Louisiana-based rockers Sons of William mix southern rock-n-roll with a radio friendly
sound and just a splash of blues, and they make it look easy. This combination produces
what has been called “intelligently constructed, lyrically literate songs” with
influences ranging from Tom Petty and Ryan Adams to the Band and Supergrass Brothers.
Joe and Dave Stark started playing music together as kids before deciding to form
a band, name it after their dad, and start creating their own sound. After adding
Jen Janet’ on bass, the band soon found themselves with three albums and performing
over 150 shows a year. With thoughtful lyrics and commercial appeal, their music
has been featured in shows such as ABC’s Greek and Fox’s K-VILLE.
They have been hailed as “a fun listen, real, raw rock-n-roll focusing on love,
sex, hope, and dreams. Listening to (their music)…will make you want to grow your
hair out, put on a floppy leather hat, get in the convertible and go!” – Scott Register,
Reg’s Coffeehouse.
Hard Rock Café picked them as one of their Artists to Watch saying, “the kind of
music that makes girls in jean cut-offs swoon. Part southern rock, part mainstream
pop, call it hominy grits washed down with a tall glass of sweet tea.”
Their live shows are energetic and extraordinary and Joe Stark is a captivating
front man with good looks and charm that can only come from the deep South. Factor
in his kick ass guitar skills and just watch the women in the front row melt like
butter. They have toured with major acts such as John Mayer, Better Than Ezra, Marc
Broussard, The Whigs and Griffin House, winning over fans one by one along the way.
The Sons of William are now in the studio working on their 4th album and will be
touring throughout 2009.
